New MLB Rules 2015

Standard

Author Note: I am reposting a previous blog. I’ve noticed in the last few days people have been searching for the new rules this season. Here are the new MLB Rules 2015

Baseball is a game of tradition. Like anything in life changes happen. MLB and MLBPA have agreed to some new rules for this year. This from FOX sports

1. Managers will be required to request instant replay challenges from the dugout. The delays resulting from managers gabbing on the field while coaches and video coordinators decided whether a play was worthy of replay will be eliminated.

2. Batters will be required to keep one foot in the batter’s box between pitches, unless a special exemption is granted. When this rule was established in 2014 in the Arizona Fall League, foul balls, foul tips, wild pitches, and umpires calling time could not be used as an excuse for stepping out.

3. No delays after coming back from TV commercials.

4. Timed pitching changes; violations will incur fines.

Miss Baseball’s Opening Day Guide

Standard

Happy Opening Day!. Twitter has this phrase all over and I just love it. Opening day should be treated like a holiday. I am very excited I have my day of television planned out If you are one of the lucky ones who gets to go to the stadium today. I am super jealous but also I have a few tips to make your day easier and fun. Some Do’s and Don’ts I learned working in the promotions department for the Texas Rangers

Do: Take the promotion. If you really don’t want it, give it to someone else. Believe me there are people who want 50 calendars.

Don’t: Ask a promo person to give a child a promo with an alcohol ad on it. We are not allowed. Sorry those are the rules

Do: Check your ticket to make sure you have the correct time and date.

Don’t: Yell at the promo people. If you have a problem go to Guest Services.

Do: Get to the ballpark early.  You can pass the new security measures and watch the ballplayers warm up. Promotions run out quickly so you can be sure to score one.

Don’t: Tackle a promo person for a promo. You will get one I promise. Now back off!

Do: Smile. You are about to spend some time watching America’s Pastime. Yes, traffic and parking are a nightmare but you are here now. Enjoy it!

Don’t: Be afraid to ask questions we will help you anyway we can.

I can’t see his face or number or even his name on his jersey but I know that swing anywhere. Today was the Spring Training opener for the Baltimore Orioles vs Detroit Tigers in Sarasota, Florida. The O’s lost.

Here is the recap: RECAP: Orioles’ 5-4 loss to the Tigers. http://t.co/UICZVvCW5C

As a Jayson Nix fan, I’m going to tell you what he did today.

Jayson came in the 7th inning. His usual wonderful glove work came in handy for a 6-3 double play.
Jayson got the first hit of a rally in the 8th with a single. He would later reach 3rd when DET pitcher Hardy missed a pick off attempt.
Jayson would score thanks to a single from Alvarez.
Jose Valdez comes in to replace Hardy.
The rally got the score DET 5 BAL 3
Bottom of the 9th
With two outs down by two Jayson Nix hits a Home Run to Left Field.
But sad to say it was no enough and the O’s lost.
They play tomorrow and this time I can catch on MLB.TV.
Can NOT wait for some more action from Jayson Nix!
